Green Website Design

Once upon a time (not so long ago) the designers at green shed were ordinary web designers. We would not consider the impact that our design activities were having on the environment, and would only be interested in the style and fuctionality of all that we created.

However having read an article about the phenominal amount of energy being used by the internet worldwide, and the subsequent amount of greenhouse gasses being released into the atmosphere, we decided there had to be a better way.

GREENER INTERNET

We all agreed that modern life would not be able to continue without the internet, therefore we needed to find a solution which allowed things to carry on as normal, but without the horrendous ecological impact.

We came up with a plan to provide good looking effective websites, in an environmentally friendly way.

OUR ECO FRIENDLY PLAN

• Cut down travelling - we moved from our office, to a shed in the garden - no more cars to work.
• Cut down paper useage - the production of paper is a terribly eco- unfriendly business, we decided that wherever possible we would have a paperless office, and if we do need paper, we use recycled.
• Use renewable energy - our shed uses renewable energy to power our daily needs.
• Renewable energy servers - every website needs computer space on a server. The servers that we now use are carbon neutral- that means no more green house gasses produced to host your site.

We may not be perfect, but we have done what we can to ensure that our activities have the least effect on the environment, whilst still being able to offer outstanding web design services at an affordable price.
